Responding to the Thirlwall Inquiry report RCN Chief Nursing Officer Professor Lynn Woolsey said:
“All our thoughts today are with the bereaved families. In what has been an incredibly challenging inquiry, they have shown great bravery and dignity.
“Some of the most vulnerable patients were let down and no parents should face such devastating heartbreak in these circumstances again.
"The legacy of this inquiry must be safer neonatal services not just at the Countess of Chester, but everywhere.”
