The physician-ordered outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation program includes disease education and supervised exercise therapy tailored to your needs. Respiratory therapists are part of our multidisciplinary, crossed-trained team dedicated to assisting you.
The program will help you:
- Become aware of signs and symptoms that require immediate medical attention
- Become less dependent on oxygen (if prescribed)
- Deal with periods of shortness of breath
- Develop a home exercise program to improve your strength and stamina
- Pace yourself so shortness of breath does not occur
- Understand your lung disease
The program features:
- Exercise equipment to meet your individual needs
- Group education covering nutrition, relaxation, medications, medical equipment, breathing retraining and proper coughing techniques
- Monitored exercise supervised by trained staff
- Support groups for patients and their families
