The Public Health Award is open to all registered nurses, midwives, and nursing assistants/health care assistants working across any health care setting in Northern Ireland.
Nominations are welcomed from fellow health and social care professionals. All nominees must be able to demonstrate how their work or project has contributed to improving public health, reducing health inequalities or increasing public health awareness within Northern Ireland.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Nominees must currently be employed within Northern Ireland. Before submitting a nomination, please ensure that the individual you wish to nominate is happy to be put forward. Nominations should come from someone who knows the nominee’s work well and can speak to its impact.
How to Apply
To apply, complete the application form and provide a summary of up to 500 words demonstrating evidence of how the nominee’s project or work has:
- Improved health or social wellbeing, such as through early interventions, building new partnerships, or taking proactive steps to reduce health inequalities and/or support marginalised groups in addressing the social factors contributing to ill health; or
- Shown strong, effective collaboration with individuals, communities, or other stakeholders to enhance health outcomes; or
- Made effective use of evidence or research to guide decisions and, where possible, influence changes in services or policy.
Please check that the person you wish to nominate is content for you to nominate them. Nominations must be made by someone who is familiar with the work of the nominee.
