RCN Eastern careers event: Strategies for success when navigating your nursing career journey

You are invited to join our careers event to offer practical advice to help you reach your goals, taking place on 26 January 2026.
for this free online session - Strategies for success when navigating your nursing career journey - which will explore career growth strategies and career planning models to foster equitable opportunities. This will be particularly helpful to internationally educated nursing (IEN) staff as there will also be an opportunity to hear from IEN members about their own career journeys for inspiration and guidance.
Event speakers will include:
- Ruby Lopez, RCN Cambridgeshire Branch Chair and Cultural Ambassador, on exploring career growth strategies and career planning models
- Julie Watkins, RCN Career Coach and Operational Lead, delivering the session "Your career toolkit: CVs, supporting statements and interviews" to boost confidence in using RCN career resources
- Sarah Omode, RCN learning rep, with a session called "From Nigeria to The Orchard", which will explore her journey to care home assistant practitioner and beyond, and how being Â鶹ÊÓƵ representative has added value to her career journey
The session will be held online using Microsoft Teams. A link to join the meeting will be sent to you once you register your details to attend. When joining the meeting, please make sure you are clearly identified with your name on screen so we can admit you quickly to the event. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking your place.
